Bezos's story, goals and talents

The essence of Bezos's video at the university from which he graduated is based on "Gifts and choices".

Nature gives us talents, but it is our choices that determine the final result.

So do you choose inertia or passion? Do you choose to follow dogma or to be original?

In my view, Bezos's most important statement is:

We are our choices!

I would add, "we are the goals we set ourselves!".

Passion is the killer application, but we must be careful in managing it.

To be good managers, we need to keep processes, people, disciplines and systems in balance.

Passion often does not help maintain those balances, and makes maintaining them painful.
